Going Private

Who uses private healthcare?

More than six in ten people (63%) would consider using private healthcare if they needed treatment in the future.

This figure rose to nearly three quarters of respondents aged 25-34 (74% of 25-34 and 73% of 18-24 year olds).

The survey found that one third (33%) of people had used private health services before. With the UK population now standing at over 67 million, this means that tens of millions of people across the UK have at least some experience of the private system.

“I certainly would [be open to private healthcare]. And certainly, if there was something that needed addressing quite quickly, then I think I probably would pay for that.
