Responding to the appointment of IHPN Vice Chair and Care UK Managing Director Jim Easton to the new NHS Assembly, David Hare, Chief Executive of the Independent Healthcare Providers Network said:

• Jim Easton is Vice Chair of IHPN and Managing Director of Healthcare at Care UK. His previous roles include Chief Executive of York Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, head of the South Central Strategic Health Authority, and National Director for the NHS Commissioning Board and the Department of Health.
• The NHS Assembly has been created to advise the Boards of NHS England and NHS Improvement on delivery of the improvements in health and care outlined in the NHS Long Term Plan.
• More than 500 people applied to sit on the Assembly, with the successful applicants chosen based on their individual knowledge, skills and experience.
