Who uses private healthcare?
Almost seven in ten people (67%) would consider using private healthcare if they needed treatment in the future.
This figure rose to three quarters of respondents aged 25-34 (76% of 25-34 and 74% of 18-24 year olds).
The survey found that one third (32%) of people had used private health services before. With the UK population now standing at over 67 million, this means that tens of millions of people across the UK have at least some experience of the private system.
Looking to the near future, over one third (34%) of people say they would pay for treatment in the next 12 months if they needed it. This rises to almost half (44%) of 25-34-year-olds who expect to use private healthcare in the coming
