The independent health and care sector continues to evolve at pace – shaped by growing patient demand, investment and an increasing recognition of the sector’s vital role within the wider UK health system.

This report highlights what makes the sector thrive: its people. Across independent hospitals, clinics and care providers, the emerging themes and key drivers include a clear focus on patient care, supported by environments where careers can flourish, and decisions made swiftly, close to the point of delivery. The Government’s recent 10 Year Plan for Health places a significant focus on the health workforce agenda and the sector’s commitment to professional growth, innovation, and compassionate leadership will continue to ensure that the drive for high quality care is matched by genuine investment in those who deliver it.

Bevan Brittan is proud of its longstanding partnership with the Independent Healthcare Providers Network and we are delighted to support this report and the ongoing work of IHPN and its members. As the independent sector continues to become increasingly mainstream, growing in scale and influence and shaped by growing public confidence, maintaining the balance of pace, purpose and people – and investing in its workforce – will be key to its ongoing success.
