IHPN responds to GMC National Training Survey

Responding to the GMC’s 2020 National training survey report, Dawn Hodgkins, Director of Regulation at the Independent Healthcare Providers Network (IHPN), said:

“We welcome today’s report from the GMC which provides a valuable insight into the experiences of medical trainees during the pandemic. Responding to covid has of course caused disruption to the training of many NHS junior doctors, however the GMC is right to emphasise the work that has gone in recent months to enable trainees to work more flexibly, and the independent health sector has been proud to play its role in this.

“As the GMC make clear, it’s vital that medical education evolves to become more flexible and responsive to changing demands, and following the recent announcement to increase opportunities for junior NHS doctors to train in independent hospitals, the independent health sector is looking forward to playing a full role in training the next generation of medical professionals”.
