IHPN responds to Conservative Party plans to boost community health services

Responding to the Conservative Party’s announcement on community care and their plans for the independent sector to deliver a significant majority of 50 new Community Diagnostics Centres, David Hare, Chief Executive of the Independent Healthcare Providers Network, said:

“We welcome the announcements over the last week by both Labour and the Conservatives that they see an important role for the independent sector in getting NHS patients the care they need.

“The cross-party political consensus that has emerged on the important role the independent sector has to play in improving NHS performance will help add much needed new capacity, offer patients more choice and ultimately ensure that NHS patients receive the best possible service, all free at the point of use.”
