CQC – Inspection Coverage

Although ratings for the sector are generally high as indicated by the previous section, not all organisations have been rated by the CQC. This was an issue highlighted by the Dash review.

The graph below shows the number of organisations by category together with whether they have been rated by the CQC.

• By provider type, 60% of independent healthcare organisation locations have received a rating. 

• Around half of all unrated independent healthcare organisations are independent consulting doctors. This is the largest group of unregulated organisations in the sector, but considerably smaller than, e.g. the 6,300 social care organisations without a rating.
