IHPN response to government announcement on expanding NHS Neighbourhood Health Centres

Responding to the latest announcement from HM Treasury regarding the rollout of new Neighbourhood Health Centres, David Hare, Chief Executive of the Independent Healthcare Providers Network (IHPN), said:

“We strongly welcome the Government’s announcement of 250 Neighbourhood Health Centres which they have made clear will involve public and private sectors working together in the best interests of NHS patients.

“As stated in our recent “Building Better Health” report, greater private investment and partnership with the independent healthcare sector will be essential to the implementation of the Government’s 10 Year Plan for Health, as well as their drive to reduce NHS waiting times.

“These partnerships will accelerate the development of the new Neighbourhood Health Service, as well as provide additional capacity, enable service innovation and deliver much needed productivity improvements across the NHS.”
