We asked a series of questions to help understand how our members feel the NHS and other political leaders view the independent health sector.

Only 23% of respondents feel very positively or positively about the attitude of the current government to the independent heath sector, a stark shift from 66% from last year.

“We are looking to where we can diversify away from the NHS because we are worried about the consistency of approach. It’s so politically driven, it’s exhausting to try and keep up with it and we feel like the NHS is exhausted. We’re trying to work out what the government is going to do. So it’s not even an NHS issue. I think it’s compounded by government policy”

Views about the NHS leadership’s attitude towards the independent health sector have shifted from last year, with 11% of respondents feeling positively, compared to 20% last year.

“That partnership model [built up during covid] has been completely broken over the last year. And that’s really disappointing to see.”
