IHPN responds to Fonagy Review into mental health and ADHD/Autism

Responding to the publication of Professor Fonagy’s review into mental health conditions and ADHD/autism, an IHPN spokesperson said:  

“The Independent Review shines an important light on the challenges people face accessing timely and appropriate support for mental health conditions, ADHD and Autism. Currently, one third of all mental health inpatient beds, half of all NHS ADHD assessments and one third of NHS Autism assessments are delivered by the independent sector, alongside a wider range of mental health and neurodevelopmental services. The sector’s continued capacity and capability therefore will be vital in improving services for patients. We look forward to collaborating with the Government in taking forward the work that needs to be done to ensure timely, high-quality assessments, treatment and wider support is available for everyone who needs it”
