IHPN responds to ADHD taskforce
07/11/2025
Following the publication of the independent ADHD Taskforce report, Danielle Henry, Director of Policy at the Independent Healthcare Providers Network (IHPN), said:
“We welcome today’s Taskforce report which makes clear the urgent need to tackle the unacceptably long NHS ADHD waiting times faced by patients which are having significant consequences for individuals and their families as well as the wider economy.
“Independent healthcare providers are committed to playing their role in improving support for neurodivergent patients. The sector currently delivers more than half of all NHS ADHD assessments, and adhere to the highest quality standards including NICE guidelines as well as the UK Adult ADHD Network (UKAAN) and The ADHD Assessment Quality Assurance Standard for Children and Teenagers (CAAQAS).
“IHPN looks forward to working with the NHS to support the implementation of the Taskforce report, including the ambition to establish a ‘modern service framework’ for ADHD services which will be an important step in reducing the postcode lottery in care and giving patient and practitioners alike the confidence that services are high-quality.”
