On 23 October 2019, the Independent Healthcare Providers Network (IHPN) held its fifth Annual Summit at BMA House in central London.
The event – supported by Bevan Brittan – is a firm fixture in the health calendar and this year focussed on how safety and quality improvement is being driven forward across the industry, with the launch of our new Medical Practitioners Assurance Framework; as well as how the sector is helping deliver the vision of the NHS long-term plan; and to showcase and highlight the innovative service models the sector is delivering to NHS and private patients.
Over 150 delegates from across the healthcare sector attended the summit to hear from and engage with keynote speakers including including Sir Bruce Keogh and the King’s Fund’s CEO Richard Murray, as well Rt Hon Stephen Dorrell, Chair of NHS Confederation, Una Lane, Director of Registration and Revalidation at the GMC, Dr Nigel Acheson, Deputy Chief Inspector of Hospitals at the CQC, and Prerana Issar, Chief People Officer, NHS Improvement. A full list of speakers can be found here.
The summit also offered delegates practical breakout sessions addressing the key areas of finding, training, and retaining the healthcare workforce of the future; the independent sector in a time of political change; and integration, the NHS, and the independent sector.
Delegates also had the opportunity to network with NHS colleagues from across the health and care system; and share experiences and connect with peers throughout the day and at the networking reception.
