IHPN IPC Forum
Thursday 13th July 2023, 10:00 – 15:00
Gama Healthcare, The Maylands Building, Maylands Avenue, Hemel Hempstead, HP2 7TG
Infection Prevention and Control Forum
The revitalisation of the IHPN Infection Prevention & Control Forums has been met and embraced by IHPN members who attended in high numbers to the first online IPC Forum in November of last year.
Keynote speakers included the Florence Nightingale Foundation and NHS England who provided valuable insight into their IPC Leadership and Workforce programme. As good as webinars, zoom and Microsoft teams have been throughout the pandemic and beyond, as the uncertainty of the pandemic slowly starts to settle, the opportunity for IPC clinicians to get together face to face to collaborate and share best practice is welcomed by all.
What’s on the day?
We have a fantastic line-up of speakers confirmed. Dr Ron Daniels is the Founder and CEO of the Sepsis Trust. One of the country’s foremost experts, he will be sharing his knowledge of sepsis with us, and will talk more about the Infection Management Coalition.
Sue Millward, NHSE’s Clinical Lead (IPC Education) will be joining us too. Sue is an infection prevention nurse with over 30 years’ experience. Team and Emma Brookes, NHSE’s Head of Soft FM Strategy & Operations will also be providing insights.
Professor Rob Townsend, a Consultant Microbiologist, will be dialling in on the day to increase our awareness and knowledge of theatres and ventilation which as we all know now is a hot topic in the IPC world.
We’ll also be hearing from Gama Healthcare’s, Clinical & Scientific Director, Dr Philip Norville, who will be talking about emerging pathogens.
There will also be opportunity for IHPN members to collaborate and share best practice over a networking lunch. There will also be a number of stands on offer demonstrating topics such as SSI, IQ online training system, surface cleaning products and air ventilation and capital equipment. The last session of the day will be breakout rooms with opportunity to discuss workforce challenges and share best practice.
