I have worked both in professional services (as a management consultant) and (predominantly) in industry. I have worked across sectors from airlines to technology, outsourcing and healthcare. My industry experience has largely focused on helping to move the business from transactional product to a more strategic services model, which is typically longer-term, more value-add and higher margin. I have worked in strategy, operational and divisional P&L roles before taking up a CEO position. I have also worked in different sized businesses at different stages of evolution (growth, recovery, turnaround) – privately owned (including by debt-holders), private equity and publicly quoted.
I am excited to help with the IHPN mentoring programme. I have always advocated for a diverse team, both those in which I work and those I have the opportunity to build. Frankly, they are more interesting, effective and, importantly, enjoyable. I am very happy to share my perspective on best to develop and grow your personal impact within what is still a largely male-dominated environment.
