How can private healthcare be made more accessible?
With private healthcare playing an increasingly important role in getting people back to work in a more timely manner, people are looking more towards their employers as a route to accessing private healthcare. Almost two thirds (65%) of people now state that “all workplaces should offer private healthcare as part of their employee benefits package”.
This plays out even more clearly among 25-44 year olds, with over 7 in 10 of that group saying they would be more likely to apply for a new job if it offered private health insurance.
With regards to self-pay, almost half (48%) of people say that they would be more likely to pay to access private healthcare themselves if they had access to a payment plan to help manage the cost of those services – up from just 37% in 2023.
