NHS Confed

NHS Confed

The NHS Confederation is the only membership body that brings together and speaks on behalf of all organisations that plan, commission and provide NHS services. We are the only organisation that not only represents all parts of the system, but can also help you engage with this influential audience.

The Group meets the specific needs of different parts of its membership through its networks:

NHS Employers

As an organisation, NHS Employer’s intention is to be the authoritative voice of workforce leaders, experts in HR and negotiate fairly to get the best deal for patients.

Mental Health Network

The Mental Health Network of the NHS Confederation is the voice for NHS funded mental health and learning disability service providers in England.

We represent NHS providers from across the statutory, independent and third sectors in working with government, regulators, opinion formers, media and the wider NHS to promote excellence in mental health services and the importance of good mental health.

NHS Clinical Commissioners

NHS Clinical Commissioners (NHSCC) is the independent membership organisation of clinical commissioning groups. NHSCC provide CCGs with a strong collective voice and represent them in the national debate on the future of healthcare in England. We facilitate shared learning; and deliver networking opportunities for our members so that local clinicians can commission the best possible services for their patients and populations.

Independent Healthcare Providers Network

Independent Healthcare Providers Network  (IHPN) is the representative body for independent sector healthcare providers. Our members deliver a very diverse range of services to NHS and private patients including acute care, primary care, community care, clinical home healthcare, diagnostics and dentistry.

NHS Confederation European Office

The NHS European Office is the conduit for the NHS to engage with the EU agenda. Hosted by the NHS Confederation, we are the representative body for the range of NHS organisations in England on EU affairs and we regularly seek input from NHS representatives to help us assess potential implications for the NHS of EU policy and legislation, in order to develop our position papers and influence our lobbying strategies at European level.

Northern Ireland Confederation

The Northern Ireland Confederation for Health and Social Care (NICON) is the voice of the organisations in the integrated Health and Social Care system (HSC). Part of the UK-wide NHS Confederation, it is the only membership body for all HSC organisations.

At present, the membership includes all HSC trusts and the “regional” organisations (HSC Board, Public Health Agency, Business Services Organisation, and the Patient and Client Council), and five of the smaller HSC bodies. The five Local Commissioning Groups (constituted as committees of the HSC Board) also are in membership.

Welsh NHS Confederation

The Welsh NHS Confederation is a membership body representing all the organisations making up the NHS in Wales: seven Local Health Boards and three NHS Trusts.

We support our members to improve health and well-being by working with them to deliver high standards of care for patients and best value for taxpayers’ money. We act as a driving force for positive change through strong representation and our policy, influencing and engagement work.
