In response to the Government’s announcement that the planned EU settled status fee is to be scrapped, Sharon Bridgland-Gough, Co-Chair of the Independent Healthcare Providers Network HR Directors Forum said:

“We very much welcome the Prime Minister’s commitment to waive the planned £65 charge to apply for the settled status fee for EU nationals.

“EU staff make a significant contribution to delivering care in the independent health sector and a number of providers have already paid the fee on behalf of their EU staff in recognition of this.

“We look forward to seeing further details of how both health providers and individual employees will be reimbursed for the fee and we call on the Government to do all they can to reassure EU staff that they are a valued part of our health service and that we want them to continue to help care for the people of this country.”
